Dr. Timothy Wright - Dr Wright grew up in Iowa, but moved to Texas as fast as he could.  He graduated summa cum laude in 1982 from Iowa State University with a degree in Construction Engineering and graduated valedictorian from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1991. 

Dr. Wright has special interest and expertise in contact lens fittings and management of ocular disease diagnosis and treatment. He has a strong following of patients who appreciate his great listening and accurate prescription skills.

When not in the office he enjoys adventure motorcycling and has traveled to Alaska, Newfoundland, and Guatemala.  He also enjoys swimming laps at Deep Eddy and crafting wood-working projects in his workshop. He works at our Downtown office.

Dr. Kathleen Shafer - Dr. Kathleen Shafer received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame and her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry.  Needing a break from the snow and cold, she moved to Austin in August of 2003. 

With a specialized residency in eye disease, she is one of a team of "Mom" doctors at our Rosedale location that specializes in early childhood exams (beginning at 6 months old), contact lenses and compassionate eyecare.

Dr. Shafer and her husband live in Allandale.  In their free time they enjoy reading, outdoor activities, chasing their 2 year old son around and newborn daughter.

Dr. Courtney Rhodes: Downtown and Rosedale Offices. You'll love Dr. Rhodes! She is our newest graduate and well-trained in detection and prevention of eye disease, early childhood examinations and compassionate eye care delivery. She and her husband enjoy their almost 2 year old son and live in Central Austin.

Dr. Lynna Cherry: Rosedale Office. Our "Mom Eye Doctor" team has expanded to enjoy the services of Dr. Cherry. She has amazing ability to put patients of all ages at ease and deliver excellent eye care examinations. Her children include a 1 year old son and daughter on-her-way!

Dr. Emily Schottman - Our owner and founder is "Dr. Emily". Having worked in the Optometric industry since she was in high school, she has been licensed in Virginia, California and Texas. She graduated with honors from Univeristy of California, Santa Barbara and the Southern California College of Optometry. Named "1996 Young Alumni of the Year", she is well-known by her patients for her warm and responsive relationships with her patients.

She has a passion for Computer Eye Fatigue and specialty Pediatric cases. She has post-doctorate certification in Vision Therapy and Training, which is a an exciting option for children and adults with visual issues that glasses, contacts and LASIK cannot fix.

You may make a specialty appointment with her by asking for a "Functional Vision" exam at our Rosedale office. She has become a specialist in her field by offering Vision Therapy as an exciting option for children and adults with visual issues that glasses, contacts and LASIK cannot fix.
